Your Packing List for a Fall Wellness Retreat in Texas
Planning for a retreat isn’t like packing for a vacation—it’s more like preparing for a reset.
At Root to Rise, we create space for you to unplug, soften, and come home to yourself. This guide helps you bring everything you need (and nothing you don’t) so you can feel fully supported during your stay.
Here's your ultimate wellness retreat packing list for our fall retreat in the Texas Hill Country.
Comfy, Layered Clothes
Fall in Texas can be beautifully unpredictable—mornings may be cool, afternoons warm, and evenings breezy. Pack for versatility and comfort.
Bring:
Light layers (cardigans, wraps, flannels)
Leggings or flowy yoga pants
A cozy sweater or sweatshirt
Breathable tops (tank tops + long sleeves)
Casual outfit for group dinners or photos
Pro Tip: Choose clothing that makes you feel good in your body. Comfort = presence.
Yoga and Movement Essentials
Even if you’ve never practiced yoga before, you’ll want to feel grounded and supported in your movement.
Bring:
1–2 pairs of yoga pants or joggers
A yoga mat (we provide extras, but feel free to bring your own)
A water bottle you love (hydration is sacred!)
Optional: yoga block, bolster, or strap if you use them
If you’re traveling and have the space for yoga props, please feel free to bring them! However, we have extras of everything and you certainly don’t need to buy any special equipment before you come.
Self-Care and Pampering Supplies
This is your time to be cared for. Bring a few favorites that help you feel relaxed and radiant.
Bring:
Travel-size skincare (cleanser, moisturizer, SPF)
Your favorite face mask or essential oil
Hairbrush, lip balm, personal care items
Any medications, supplements, or wellness tools
Shoes for Comfort & Nature
Our retreat includes optional nature walks and time outdoors. Footwear = freedom.
Bring:
Comfy walking shoes or trail sneakers
Easy slip-ons or sandals for indoor use
Optional: cozy socks or slippers for morning journaling or spa time
Evening & Rest Items
You’ll want to unwind deeply in the evenings. Pack for comfort and calm.
Bring:
Pajamas or loungewear
A scarf or shawl for outdoor stargazing
A good book or podcast (optional)
Earplugs, sound machine, or an eye mask if you’re a sensitive sleeper
Optional luxury: Bring a small item that helps you feel grounded—like a crystal, a sacred object, or a photo.
What Not to Bring
This retreat is designed to help you unplug. We encourage less digital, more presence.
Leave at home:
Work laptops or intense reading material
High heels, restrictive clothes
Over-packing “just in case” items
The pressure to be anything but yourself
Pack with Intention
As you fold your items into your suitcase, try doing it with intention: “What do I want to feel during this retreat?”
Bring what helps you feel soft, safe, open, and free. That’s the only real requirement.
Ready to Feel Lighter Already?
Packing for this retreat isn’t just preparation—it’s permission. You’re allowed to leave the pressure behind and come as you are.
We’ll take care of the rest.
